Welcome to Charleston Township

Charleston Township is located in southeastern Kalamazoo County, Michigan approximately halfway between Detroit and Chicago on the Interstate 94 corridor. Charleston Township has a population of approximately 1,820 people and continues to experience planned, limited growth and development. The township offers the rural atmosphere of open farmland and large residential lots, coupled with commercial, industrial, and R&D sites near our open access to I-94. The township also includes the Fort Custer State Recreation Area, numerous lakes, and abundant opportunities for camping, fishing, hiking, and other great Michigan activities.
